Poem 1

In Such A Short Time

You left my life so suddenly
I expected you to really outlive me
I was there when you were born
Someone took you away and now I am scorned
I know I will see you again somewhere down the line
It's just not today, but it will be, in such a short time

I will remember you in my dreams when I lay down my head
But sleep doesn't come easy at the sight of my bed
You are in a better place and I know that now
But I am selfish I have to make it somehow
You know I would trade places with you at the drop of dime
You filled this world with love, sweetness and joy in such a short time

I will carry your memory with me for the rest of days
I will write down my pain and cry for you in so many ways
I don't know when we will meet again
But when we do, be there for me when it's my chance
I know you're happy now and I will be fine
Because I know you'll see me soon in such a short time
